Good as new!!!

She's healed =)

She did so good with the removal too.  Started to fuss when the tech started up the "saw" but then stopped and just watched him cut it off.  He asked if I wanted to keep it, warning that it smelled really bad.  I said absolutely.  I just have to figure out how to get it into a scapbook now!  HA!  Probably end up in a shadow box though or perhaps even the trash.  =)  We shall see.

So I saw this driving down Fairfax County Parkway

Jaime - did you know that you have a painting and drywall company?

The dishes can wait - my children can't!

It's been FOUR years since I took the pictures in the above video! They've all changed so much and yet it seems like only yesterday.

Mosquitos and Lice

I hate them! And I honestly don't hate many things in this wonderful world, but these two have a way of getting under my skin - literally AND physically!

Her Daddy said "She finally gave up"

She kept fighting a nap until she sat still.  Then it was all over!

Yesterday and This Morning

Sweet daughters on the swing before I warned them of the spider behind them!
hahahahahahah

Beautiful fall day and they can't stop playing with their i's =)

Here are some photos I took of Sabrina and Jaime's playdoh creations last night.  They are SO talented.  I was happy to make a snake or snowman when I was a child!

This morning I walked out of the house and almost walked into this...

The pictures above were taken this morning of "Charlotte".  My spider friend.  She was living in the upper corner of the doorway and made the most authentic spooky door spiderwebs but recently she has moved to a location directly over the front sidewalk!  Sooo cool!  Her web spans from the dogwood trees on either side and I caught her right in the middle working on her breakfast!  I have a feeling Joe is going to move her to a less traveled place while I am at work today.

TBall Video

A video from Joseph's game on 9.17.11. He was the last player to bat so he got to run all the bases.

Hi there,
Joseph seems very happy here at school. I do not see the behaviors that you are talking about here. He appears to enjoy what he is doing. In the very beginning he was prettyactive (disruptive type of thing), but he has jumped on board with our behavior system, stays in control of himself and is always on green light.
Thank you for your note. I will keep an eye on him and let you know if I see anything that gives me reason for concern.

Comments: Good Afternoon Ms. Mueller,
I am writing today to see how Joseph did in class. I ask because he did not get off to a good start this morning and his father and I were a bit worried about him. Please feel free to tell us were are being overly concerned and not to worry if that is actually the case. You are a professional in this type of situation and we are just a pair of novices.
He said that he did not want to go to school ever again and that everything at the school made him sad. After some whys and probing questions from me he said that "homework like his sisters have (they are in 8th and 9th grade)" would make him happy.
He also cried to me that it upset him that I wouldn't go on the school bus with him, and day before yesterday he was in tears when he told me he doesn't like lunch because he misses me so much when I don't come every day.
We do realize that this is only day seven of a twenty-some year journey and that other children may be going through the same thing. I guess my expectations were just that he would stay excited or at least complacent and just go to school and enjoy it, like his sisters did.
We welcome a reply with your thoughts and ideas. I can also make myself available anytime if you feel a personal conference is appropriate.
Thanks so much for your time,
Viki and Joe Dalbo

"Cheese!"

Joseph and Nicole right before we went to Kindergarten Orientation

Nicole fussing at her brother for not catching a ball. Having the cast doesn't seem to phase her in the least.

Here we go again!

First day of school. The end of summer. Maybe not for some but for Sabrina, it is. And Jaime and for the first time, Joseph, will soon follow suit. Nicole still has four years, lucky girl.

We have had a really good summer. The pool has been in good shape the whole season and even though we won’t close it for a couple months, it’s still different once school starts and temperatures drop at night. We didn’t have any formal vacations this year but did get to go to King’s Dominion and Six Flags. Nicole rode her first roller coaster too! We also met some football stars and got autographs too. Joseph still has one last hurrah to go. We have tickets to see the Mets play the Nationals on the Friday before school starts for him. Every baseball he sees has him asking if he can take it to the game for autographs. We were able to enjoy more frequent family movie and game nights over the summer too. And let me tell you that 80s Scene It is not as easy as one 40 year old might think! But I was a good sport, even in my loss to EVERYONE, fer shure, TOTALLY! =)

We are all excited for this school year though and all the moments it will bring! Especially with Joe and I quitting smoking the end of July, and the promise of a long awaited trip to Disney World next summer!

Happy Birthday America!!!

We really enjoyed the first part of last night’s fireworks show! Unfortunately, the long pause before the (sporadic) grand finale found us in the exit lane of the parking lot and unable to watch it. Note to self: send a letter to the city – second year that’s happened – enough is enough.

Everyone is enjoying the summer and the reinstatement of family movie and game nights. We’ve watched Yogi Bear and Opposite Day, and we’ve played Uno and Putt Putt. We also saw Secretariat in a very unique way to us…..projected onto the back of the house! It was really cool to see a way-larger-than-life horse galloping across the vinyl siding! We hope to do that more and more as the weather allows. (there’s a couple pictures in the June photo slide show link above that show us getting ready for the BIG movie in the backyard)

Joseph is being promoted at church this coming Sunday and will be attending the elementary class, where he might meet other children that will be in his kindergarten class – which begins in 64 days!!!

I am very excited to be on vacation next week. As always, I’ll have too high of expectations and won’t get anything done! Oh well, that’s what vacations are for, right?

Jaime and Sabrina are learning the piano/keyboard this summer and Sabrina is going to also start learning the guitar. Jaime shocked me one afternoon by playing ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ from memory. These children are all so talented!!!

Niki will be in the Baby Contest at the Prince William County Fair on August 12th, and Joseph, Sabrina and Jaime, as well as myself, plan to enter a couple items in the hopes of bringing home a blue ribbon, or four, this year!

And with the girls forgoing their birthday party for a Halloween Party, I suppose we’ll need to start working to transform the basement to a haunted maze and get our costumes made. I think the girls want to do a family theme this year, but I kinda want to be Mommie Dearest!!! =)

Oh and I have to mention one thing that has made this summer VERY enjoyable! Chore Charts at www.goalforit.com!!! They are fabulous at helping my children help me!!!! Thank you goalforit!!!!

TBall Recap Padres vs. Mets Field 7 GMBL

M-E-T-S Mets Mets Mets! Before calling the game for lightning, Joseph and his team did FANTASTIC! Joseph played 2nd, then 1st and was in right field for the last inning. He was so proud to get two outs when he was on first. He also did well for himself at bat, getting a double his first inning and flyballs that quickly rolled to the outfield the following innings. In fact, his daddy heard a passer-by “Whoa” one of those hits. =)

Happy Easter and Happy Mother's Day

Well, atleast I didn’t have to list as many holidays as the previous post – but unfortunately it is just well wishes and not much meat to this post. Trying to sneak out a little early to get to Joseph’s TBall game. I am dugout mom tonight. =)

Rock and Roll Baby

Niki had been rolling over from her back to her belly for different people at different times for the past week or so now. But Daddy finally got to see her AND Mommy had her cell phone and could tape it. I cannot believe how fast she’s growing. I miss my immobile baby.

Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year's, Happy Valentine's Day

That was probably the quickest six months of my life. Time flies when you are having fun – right? Well, hopefully I’ll be able to work on more timely updates coming up. I am hoping to pull together this week a page covering Joseph’s 5th Birthday and his party. =) Fingers crossed.
